Tiger Williams accused of sexual assault on military flight
OTTAWA, Ontario (AP) Dave ''Tiger'' Williams was arrested by military police Friday, two days after the NHL penalty minutes king was charged with two counts of sexual assault and assault for incidents on a Canadian Forces aircraft.
The Canadian Forces Provost Marshal's office said a woman reported during the December flight that Williams assaulted her. Williams was taking part in a morale trip to Latvia.
Williams was released from custody on a promise to appear in court. A hearing date has not yet been set. While the military laid the charges, the case will go to civilian court in Ottawa, where the flight originated.
The 64-year-old Williams had 241 goals, 272 assists and a staggering 3,966 penalty minutes in 962 NHL regular-season games from 1974 to 1988 with Toronto, Vancouver, Detroit, Los Angeles and Hartford.Copyright © 2015 The Associated Press.
